Army Secures Drug Lab in Quintana Roo’s Mayan Jungle

I don’t recall the discovery of a lab in this area ever. This is a very interesting discovery that shows the geographical diversification of Chapitos labs and the organization's capacity.

Update: A local report says the laboratory is owned by the Caborca Cartel, which manufactures fentanyl tablets. 

Military discovers seven-section drug lab in Quintana Roo jungle


In an official communiqué, the 34th Military Zone informs that “a property and material that was used for the elaboration of synthetic drugs was located 12 kilometers from the town of Andres Quintana Roo, municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo”.


The document states that, when the military personnel in coordination with the National Guard, were carrying out reconnaissance on the roads near the town of Andres Quintana Roo, they were able to locate a property that was apparently used for the elaboration of synthetic drugs, having observed several areas where diverse material was found.

On the premises, they found 37 empty metal drums; 23 empty 200-liter plastic drums; empty 50-liter plastic drums, and 25 sacks of white powder.

They also found seven 50-liter plastic drums filled with a substance to be analyzed; 37 200-liter metal drums; a sack with 10 kilos of caustic soda and 14 plastic bags with white powder.

It was reported that four people were detained and handed over to the ministerial authorities, while the site was dismantled, according to Sedena.

  1. very surprised to see any of the cartels still messing with fent, the USA don't mess around when it comes to that crap, why don't they stick to coke etc?

    1. Fent is just so lucrative of a cost ratio, especially for Caborca Cartel. I wanted to point out that Caborca Cartel is known for its routes, not for production. I am not sure what to think of that.
